Don't rain on me

Been looking for an umbrella that would work on my wheelchair... Something that would keep me dry that does not involve me wearing a poncho.  Because, frankly speaking, to me they resemble trash bags.

There are clamp on umbrellas that can be attached to a chair but they are expensive.  And I only see them online/through mail order.

And then there is the umbrella canopy which is more than $100.  And rather big.  So I stopped at a sporting goods chain and grabbed this $5 umbrella.  So far it can attach to my sidekick.

Let's hope it works.

Bruises

My elbows constantly sport bruises and scrapes from pushing on them to transfer in and out of my chair. So much so that I have often wondered about putting shoe insoles (the Dr. Scholl's variety) on my armrests. Because, they are meant to take pressure off the feet in a similar way right?

Enter, Husband.  And his genius idea to put linebacker elbow pads (as in football gear) on the armrests. If nothing else they prevent some of the slipping and skidding issues when getting out of the shower ,that lead to skinning my elbows. OUCH!  While they give some relief, they do not feel soft enough.  With the next surgery coming up fast, I have been on the hunt for something with more support.  So I am hoping this new purchase will help, and arrive soon from amazon.  Shooter pads... As in guns... How badass?!

I wonder if...

Awhile back I had this great idea. Stick floor cleaner in my cloth/canvas bag, drape the back over my neck and VOILA! My own toolbelt for cleaners. Only problem? It would not stay straight in the bag. I wonder if this would work (PS the etsy shop featured in the biggest photo made my bag... It is similar to this but better)??
